Ukala Medical Foundation

The official opening ceremony of the Ukala Medical Foundation on April 21 2019 and the Foundation's very first free health fair held on 21-22 April 2019.

A total of 163 patients received free consultations, electrocardiograms (ECGs), medications and reading glasses, where appropriate. Specialist referrals were also made as necessary.

The Foundation is particularly grateful to His Royal Majesty, Obi (Dr) Ifeanyichukwu Alekwe, the 2nd, the Obi of Mbiri, and his Council of Chiefs for their support; the entire Ukala Family for their continued support and sacrifices for the Mbiri Community and the amazing volunteers who made the event possible including - Dr. Promise Okonji (Optometrist), Mr. Joseph Okonji (Pharmacist), Dr. Ogechi Davorjih (Medical Doctor), Miss Edna Ehimika (Registered Nurse), Miss Ijeh Justina (Registered Nurse), Iheuwaro Peace (Auxiliary Nurse) and Mrs. Ozuem (Midwife at Mbiri Maternity Centre). The Foundation is also immensely grateful to Hon. Sunday Bamah, Executive Assistant to Governor Okowa of Delta State, for his incredible and unfailing service to the Mbiri people and the Ukala family. Special recognition and thank you to Dr. Idiaghe of Anioma Clinic, Boji Boji, Owa, who kindly supplied the examination couch and screens for the health fair.
